Fuji FinalProof laminate
2400x2400 dpi color proofing
The Fuji FinalProof is the digital equivalent of MatchPrint, using pigment sheets imaged at full resolution (same resolution as plates are imaged) that are laminated to a base, typically the exact stock on which the job will be printed, or a close approximation. As with all laminate proofing systems, useable stocks are limited to matte or gloss coated, as the lamination post-process tends to tear up uncoated stocks. Since full resolution is employed, all features including screening details are revealed (moire for example). The color accuracy is impeccable, in fact, the proof and press sheet are difficult to differentiate. An additional feature of the FinalProof is that it is able to image up to six colors. This enables the proofing of Hexachrome (adding Orange and Green) and rendering proofs accurately that utilize Metal FX (adding Fuji's Silver material, a close match).

Epson 9800 eight color inket
720x720 dpi color proofing
The affordable Epson inkjet provides an exceptional match to press. Eight colors (additional light Cyan, Magenta, and multiple Blacks) give the Epson a broad gamut that easily covers the CMYK and Pantone spectrum. Jobs destined for the Epson are processed through ApogeeX, precisely the same as when jobs are rendered for film or plating, insuring the highest reliability between plate and proof, the proof even shows trapping. Color management is performed by our EFI Colorproof RIP, which accepts rendered pages/flats from ApogeeX and drives the Epson.
